English – After the First Gospel
In our society today, public displays of religion are looked down upon. It is fine, they say, to believe whatever you want, as long as you stay within the walls of your home or your church. But today we hear the Lord say that if his disciples, that is, we who believe in him, if we do not cry out, the stones themselves will. As the followers of Jesus, it is our responsibility to cry out, to celebrate the coming of our king and messiah. Even though we still must go through the passion before we will arrive at the resurrection, we must never forget that our king has come and he has won his victory and we must never stop announcing that victory with joy and thanksgiving.

Jesus came to save us, and we killed him. So I hope we never take that salvation for granted.

En nuestra sociedad actual, las demostraciones públicas de religión son menospreciadas. Está bien, dicen, creer lo que quieras, mientras permanezcas dentro de las paredes de tu casa o tu iglesia. Pero hoy escuchamos al Señor decir que si sus discípulos, es decir, nosotros que creemos en él, si no clamamos, lo harán las mismas piedras. Como seguidores de Jesús, es nuestra responsabilidad clamar, celebrar la venida de nuestro rey y mesías. Aunque todavía debemos pasar por la pasión antes de llegar a la resurrección, nunca debemos olvidar que nuestro rey ha venido y ha ganado su victoria y nunca debemos dejar de anunciar esa victoria con alegría y acción de gracias.
