We had many people show up at the office looking for ashes last Wednesday or asking to take ashes home to their loved ones, and we had to tell many of them that we could not do that.

March 02, 2022 – Spiritual Evils
It is so easy to live our lives only pursuing our own wealth, pleasure, power, and fame. Lent protects us against this. Our penances during this season, and our practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, will give us victory in the battle against spiritual evils and will guarantee that we grow ever closer to Jesus.

I really struggle with Lent. In fact, every year I dread Lent, and have at least since my priestly ordination.
March 17, 2019 – Embracing the Cross
As we enter more deeply into this season of Lent, let’s pray to God that he might grant us the grace to follow him to the Cross, whatever the Cross might be in our lives. Let us pray for the grace to do the hard thing, because it is in these little sufferings and sacrifices that we will find our closeness to Jesus and our salvation.
