Staff Changes
I have been working on a staff reorganization since March, but at the end of this week it finally becomes official.
Regional
Dr. Kathy Ernst – previously the Director of Parish Life at Assumption – will start as the Regional Director of Pastoral Ministries. Kathy will oversee all of the faith formation programs and employees for the county, as well as all of our outreach ministries (like Prepares and St. Vincent de Paul). Of course, as is typical with an expansive regional position like this, Kathy will also have a grab bag of “other duties as assigned”.
Anna Wittmershaus – previously Spanish teacher at Assumption Catholic School and currently the 0.3 FTE Marriage Coordinator at Assumption – will leave her role at the school to become the 0.6 FTE Regional Marriage Coordinator. She will be the primary contact for couples looking to get married in the Church and will guide them through the process and paperwork. The actual marriage classes will still be offered through our faith formation programs.
Elizabeth Ames – currently the Regional Director of Finance – will expand her roll to become the Regional Director of Finance and Human Resources, taking on much of the HR work that Michael Rombaoa had previously been doing.
Bellingham
Michael Rombaoa – previously the 0.25 FTE Regional Director of Human Resources and currently the 0.75 FTE Location Manager for Assumption – will end his time as Regional Director of HR so that he can focus full time on his role as Location Manager for Assumption. Some of his expanded duties will include taking on more of the tasks that Kathy Ernst used to perform at Assumption, including parish socials and funeral planning.
Kim Walker – previously the Director of Faith Formation at Sacred Heart – will start as the Director of Faith Formation (Bellingham). With Kathy going regional, this seemed like an appropriate time for us to combine the faith formation and sacramental prep programs between the Bellingham churches, and Kim has stepped up to oversee all of that. I believe the plan is to continue to offer sacramental preparation separately at the two churches (tied to Sunday Mass) but to offer children’s faith formation all together at Sacred Heart on Wednesdays. Kim is also responsible for adult faith formation (mostly OCIA) at the two churches. Daniel Prenosil will continue to oversee youth ministry (6th – 12th grade) at the two Bellingham churches, as he has for the last few years.
Liliana Marshall – previously the 0.5 FTE Director of Faith Formation at Assumption and currently the 0.5 FTE Executive Assistant for Clergy – will increase to 32 hrs/week as the Executive Assistant for Clergy. She will use her remaining 8 hrs/week to serve as the Spanish Assistant for Faith Formation (Bellingham), helping Kim to interface with Spanish-speaking families and otherwise helping out in the combined faith formation program.
Claudia Maeda – currently the Sacramental Registrar at Assumption – will extend her support roll to include Sacred Heart.
