Apologies for Dropped Masses
I am so very sorry for the Masses that did not happen on April 9, 10, and 23. I won’t go into why they were dropped, but I did have coverage arranged for these when I left and we did not know the coverage had fallen through until no priest showed up in the sacristy. I am currently problem solving to make sure this does not happen again. I know that daily Mass is a core aspect of the spirituality of those who attend, so I really am sorry. Thank you for your understanding.
Partners in the Gospel Website
Everyone has questions about Partners in the Gospel. To that end, I have created a website for the Whatcom County family, and I will post updates on different decisions as I make them. Facilities Needs for Partners
I have not posted about this on the website yet, but I want to make sure the two parish vicars have offices at Assumption, even if they will also spend time in the other offices. Meaning we have to do some deferred upgrades and renovations to the Assumption office building. We are also playing rectory musical chairs, meaning 2111 Ellis needs some work in case it needs to welcome a new resident. Below is a list of all the facilities needs that we are trying to address before July 01. If you think you can help with any of them, please contact michaelr@assumption.org. I have marked volunteer appropriate tasks with a *.
Office Building
- *Remove carpeting from three offices.
- Refinish wood floors in all three offices.
- Remove false ceiling from downstairs office, repair walls hidden by false ceiling, rebuild new ceiling at original ceiling level.
- Outfit office with professional Wifi system, including mounting access point and running all new cabling (through conduit) to every office in the building.
- *Move desks and bookshelves into finished offices.
2111 Ellis Needs
- Replace/install garage door (thanks to the Knights of Columbus for running electricity to that garage!).
- *Demo bathroom.
- Rebuild bathroom.
- *Scrape old paint and wallpaper off of living room.
- Repaint living room.
- *Install baseboards in central bedroom.
- *Build new guardrail around basement opening.
