Northern Deanery High School
We are starting to make significant progress on a potential high school in the Northern Deanery (see the insert below). The consulting firm was on campus this week to do focus groups with parents in Bellingham, Mount Vernon, and Anacortes. They also met with the Steering Committee. This was all so that they can craft a survey that asks the questions we really need them to answer with data (like, for example, what location will yield the highest enrollment). Please look out for that survey sometime in April or May – we need as many people to respond as possible so that we have the most comprehensive data possible.
Ellis St. Project
Almost three years after they (under the leadership of Jack King) straightened the garage for the Ellis St. house to keep it from collapsing, the Knights of Columbus were on Saturday to run electricity to that same garage. It involved digging a giant trench through my back yard. Thank you to Bob Grasher for his leadership and to everyone who showed up to help him!

May Retreat
As part of our contract with the Evangelical Catholic, one of their consultants flies out each year to make a presentation at our parish and to meet with parish small group leaders. They did not come last year, so we get two days this year. I am struggling to think of an appropriate presentation topic, though. Right now, I am thinking to have her present on how to develop spiritual connections and conversations with friends and family, since those connections will be essential in getting us through Partners in the Gospel. However, if there is a different topic that you need to get you through Partners, please let me know.
