Gina DePalma Moving On
This week we learned that our Director of Faith Formation, Gina DePalma, is taking a position with the Archdiocese. Specifically, she will be serving as a “Parish Liaison”, one of about 8 people being hired by the Archdiocese to support parishes through the Partners in the Gospel process. Gina will be supporting all the parishes north of Everett.
We are thrilled that Partners in the Gospel in our part of the Archdiocese is going to be in such capable hands, who also understand the needs and workings of parish life and parish staff! However, we are also sad to have Gina moving out of our offices. Thankfully, she does not have to relocate, so you will still see her at Mass and around the parish.
We have not decided on a formal way to recognize Gina’s years of service at the parish, but you can feel free to wish her well when you see her.
3 Positions Open at the Parish
Because of Gina’s departure, we are restructuring our staff a little bit, and are advertising three part-time positions. Please note that these positions can be mixed-and-matched, so if a person needs more hours, they can fulfill two or all three of the position descriptions.
Director of Children’s Faith Formation (20 hrs/week, Job Description): Coordinates the programs and catechists for baptismal prep, K – 5 faith formation, 2nd grade sacramental preparation, and RCIA for children.
Marriage Coordinator (10 hrs/week, Job Description): Coordinates everything necessary (on the parish side of things) to get couples from engagement to vows. Ideally bilingual.
Communications Coordinator (10 hrs/week, Job Description): Responsible for the bulletin, website, and social media.
In addition to these three new positions, we are restructuring slightly so that adult faith formation (including RCIA and small groups) will shift to Dr. Kathy Ernst. Please contact Michael Rombaoa (michaelr@assumption.org) if you are interested in applying.
