“What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? … No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35, 37-39)
If Christ has conquered death (and he certainly has!) then what remains for us to fear? God is victorious and He is on our side. If we run to Him and open ourselves up to His presence and His power, then the one who raised Jesus from the dead will raise us, also; from death, certainly, but also from sin and whatever else plagues us. No matter what we face in life, the Resurrection of Jesus gives us the proof of this great hope that we can be saved. The Lord is risen, alleluia!
