From time to time, I have parishioners tell me about resources that they have found very helpful, that they think other parishioners should be invited to investigate. Well, I have two such requests this week and, since I spent Wednesday and Thursday at Archdiocesan meetings, I am happy to give them some space and take the week off for myself. 😉
From Pete Matronic III:
There are two free and easily reached weekly podcasts which cover a wide variety of everyday Christian subjects, both of which are worthy of consideration. First, the Jeff Cavins Show. Jeff, who has been teaching on the Bible for over 30 years, is one of the authors behind The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation [off of which Bible in a Year is based -ed.]. Second, All Things Catholic with Dr. Edward Sri. Dr. Sri is a well-known theologian as well as a respected author.
From Kathy Delbecq and the Creation Care Team:
The Assumption Creation Care Ministry invites you to view the inspiring film “The Letter: A Message For Our Earth”. The film explores issues that include Indigenous rights, climate migration, and youth leadership in the context of action on climate and nature.
The film is available free as a YouTube Original. Considering watching with family, friends, and neighbors. Share the message. Commit to prayer and action to protect our common home. The United Nations Conference of Parties (COP 27) is gathering in Sharmel-Sheikh, Egypt from November 6-18th. In July, the pope wrote “During this Season of Creation, let us pray that COP27 and COP15 can serve to unite the human family (cf. ibid., 13) in effectively confronting the double crisis of climate change and the reduction of biodiversity.”
